This is a great place for parents and littles of all ages to enjoy! Features more than 50 rare and historic aircraft, amusement style rides, full motion flight stimulators, real 3D/4D Missions Theater, and historical exhibits. Makes for a fun, educational day trip.
Kalamazoo Valley Museum
This museum has a little bit of everything. Three playrooms for preschoolers and hands on exhibits for the science and music lovers of all ages. Check out ancient Egypt and the Museums's mummy. There is also a really sweet planetarium that holds daily shows. Did I mention it's free?!
This plaza has mostly independently owned and family friendly shops such as:
Bookbug- Kalamazoo's independent bookstore. The staff is super knowledgeable and always happy to throw out recommendations. Aside from books they also have an eclectic selection of activities and toys for all ages. This is my go to store for birthday and holiday gifts!
Little Sprout Boutique- This cute shop carries baby and children's clothes, fun and educational toys, and baby gear. I love their selection of baby carriers and fun baby accessories.
Treat Street- While you're shopping stop in for ice cream! This little shop has sweet treats, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
Sawall Health Foods- Kalamazoo's oldest family-owned natural food store, they carry the largest selection of natural and organic foods, vitamins, and supplements in the state of Michigan.
Kalamazoo has a rich history in brewing beer that has evolved into a rad craft beer culture. What's great is that most of them are in walking distance from each other in the downtown district. Here are a few favorites to check out!
Bells Eccentric cafe- Beer and yummy food with a bonus of a kiddo friendly beer garden.
Gonzo's Bigg Dog Brewing
Rupert's Brew house
Tibbs Brewing Co
Old Dog Tavern- Although not a brewery I thought I would add it because of their kiddo friendly beer garden and great menu selection!
